Jacket inspection in AzerbaijanBP had recently aquired the license for a field in the Caspian, and as part of the deal had to buy this partially completed jacket being built at the Primorsk yard south of Baku. We were sent out to do some random inspection.
To save us jugging up to the top the yard had kindly built this ladder out of various bits of scrap metal lying around. Some parts of it had a 30° overhang. Chris Knott, the team leader bravely tried it out, and once up set up a safety line for the rest of us to use.
